| NewsSupport the Annual FundFor many of us, the bonds we formed at DTD grew into connections that make life more meaningful today. Many of us have no closer friends than those we made back then. Some of us got first job or reference from a brother, others have made great business connections through brothers. Some were our groomsmen or godfathers to our kids. Add to that the lessons we learned as a result of our association with the fraternity. These have helped to lay a foundation for the successes we have experienced in our personal and professional careers. Remember that our annual fund relies on support from our alumni brotherhood, and every donor makes a big difference. We can’t continue our program without you. He recently had this to share: I spend six months in Florida in the winter and six months in Illinois. I’m mostly retired but I still do some law practice in both Florida and Illinois. I’ll look around my Glenview, IL home to see if I can find some old Delt pictures in 1940, ’41 and ’42 (before I went into the Army in 1943) and send them to the chapter. Glad to learn the fire inspired some improvements at the Delt House. If you have news you would like to share with chapter, submit it to alumninews@affinityconnection.com (be sure to mention DTD at Illinois). Continued... Blind Date FunThanks to Jim Bettonville '64 for answering our recent call for memories. He writes "Having just arrived at the University, my Roommate Don Tuck and I didn't know many girls. A Brother set us up with blind dates for a coffee date. We pushed the buzzer and the first girl came down the stairs. She was about Four Feet tall and weighed about 200 pounds. She looked at Don and asked: "Are you Don Tuck?" Laughingly, he pointed to me and said, "No, he is." About that time, the other girl came down the stairs. She was about Six Foot Forty and weighed about 80 pounds. Don said, "I changed my mind. I'm Don." We were laughing so hard. The girls kept laughing and asked giddily, "Is this some sort of joke?" totally unaware of the situation." Click here for more of Jim's Delt memories and to share your own. Continued...
